2012 Yhdistystarinoita / Tales from the Clubroom

Tales from the Clubroom is an old play that has been somewhat significant at the time in USA for the deaf community. Theater Totti, Finnish Theater of Deaf wanted to honor the author Bernard Bragg and remake his play in Finland as their 25-year-anniversary play. As usual, there are not too much professional deaf actors in Finland, and the play had to be done by non professionals. The play was in Finnish Sign Language, interpreted in Finnish and toured around Turku (premiere), Helsinki and Jyväskylä to serve the Finnish Deaf community.  This was my second time around to do the lighting design in Theater of Deaf and this time the lighting instruments  played a big part in the whole look on stage.
