Could sleep was ordinary, but not so ordinary dance performance about growing to be an adult.
Not so ordinary in a sense, that our dancer was 30-years-something Kalle Suominen who had graduated from the most well known ballet school in Sweden. After that he found himself in Finland, building up trucks and trying to forget about his ballet past, but ended up dancing again, and again.
The fun in this production was the small team where everyone trusted highly each other.
The performance took place in Salo Theatre, that was small and intimal enough for the themes we chose to work with.
The idea was to make a very simple picture on stage, that every one in Finland might know somehow; a man had a break up with his wife and moved to a small flat with nothing else than the music system, computer and just some basic stuff you need in a new home.
The performance was 60min long and it included selected stories of Kalles life in the past by speaking, dance and selected body movements. The space and the props were the co-actors for Kalle as well as the stage was his home.
Kalle run himself the both sound and the lights with a computer from the stage as a part of the performance. The software used was e:cue.
